Far Cry 5's co-op mode is best played with those familiar with the game itself, as it can lead to fewer spoilers on their end. Using the co-op mode is a great way to get through the chaotic Far Cry 5 was the first one to have co-op like this. Far Cry 4 had some co-op but I don't think you can even play the missions together (or at least the story missions). Very primitive in comparison. Its the same but no story missions . 4 is the only other one that allows coop campaign, and it only saves for the host like 5. .
