This is not a f2p game, the core game is free with restrictions and more of a trial. The game it self was always buy to play. It have no monthly fee nor does it have any vip, patron, special coin of the month or what ever. You buy the game and then you play the game. They offer the core game to let new players try it out.
1) The free-to-play game includes access to 31 maps, two character slots, limited bag space, and some chat and travel restrictions. 2) End-game on the free-to-play account includes Fractals of the Mists -- a dungeon system with 21 different mini dungeons, 100 levels of difficulty, and 4 tiers of challenge.

The restrictions are mostly qol and not having access to living stories or expansions. There are some key points over chat and mail though. Ultimately yes you should be able to play together until Season 2 and Heart of Thorns.
Trader Nov 22, 2022 @ 6:13am. Just to add, I played through to level 80 as F2P and it there were only a few things that felt restricting: 2 character slots. I'd advice leveling in 1 slot and saving the other to try/play around with as you level, but don't do anything permanent with it until you reach level 80 on the other slot.
Maybe not insanely great but its there. Go play swtor see the spam, go play archeage see the rmt. Go play lost ark see the bots zoomin in staring areas. Unless this is your first mmo to play then you must be clueless if you think those restrictions are bad
Your bonus is not having restrictions (besides HoT) and if your account is old enough when you buy HoT you get an extra character slot (worth 10$ alone) You also don't have any free to play restrictions. And the biggest benefit, depending on when you started: You get to play, and enjoy the game for three years before the free to play players. 1.
I get that, but nevertheless, I still think they are throwing legitimate free players under the bus with the restrictions. The strangest thing is, that you can't trade gold for gems, so you can't even buy more bag or bank space as a free player.
The entirety of the core Guild Wars 2 Game is free to play, but some areas will be restricted until you reach certain levels such as Lion's Arch (Level 35), PvP Lobby (Level 20) and WvW (Level 60). You don't get the F2P restrictions, you get everything else you paid for, and you get the LWS2 episodes that came out when you logged in. If they ever rerelease LWS1 episodes, you may or may not get those free as well.
